A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that returns those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of a search query. When you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs may contain an IP address, browser information, viewed pages, and time stamps. We use aggregated information to maintain the service and understand readership. Cookies or comparable tools may be used for basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How We Use Technical Data
The limited data supports operation, diagnostics, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links lead to government portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. The privacy terms of the destination control what you submit there. That includes the sponsored results provider.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when required by valid legal process.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the needs described here. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal profiles maintained by Minneapolis Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect a minor’s personal information. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information so we can remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Minnesota’s Consumer Data Privacy Act became effective July 31, 2025, with full effectiveness described by the Attorney General in 2026. Depending on the law and circumstances, a visitor may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a site maintains. Because we keep little, requests normally involve checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by Minneapolis, Hennepin County, or Minnesota custodians are outside our control and must be addressed with that custodian.
